2020 Airstream Basecamp Dimensions & Measurements

If you want to take the 2020 Airstream Basecamp or 2020 Airstream Basecamp X with you on your road adventures, you should know the dimensions and measurements of the small travel trailer to make sure you have the right equipment for it. Since this is smaller and lighter than the others, most vehicles rated for light or heavier towing should do just fine. To be safe, though, make sure your vehicle can pull at least 4,000 lbs. and always make sure you use the right equipment to hitch any travel trailer.

2020 Airstream Basecamp Exterior Measurements

The 2020 Airstream Basecamp and Basecamp X have identical exterior and interior measurements. In terms of length, the Basecamp models are 16 feet, 3 inches long. The trailer is 7 feet wide on the outside and reaches up a full 8 feet, 8.75 inches due to the air conditioner unit being on the roof. Otherwise, the roof stands 8 feet, 7.5 inches off the ground, so the air conditioner unit doesn’t make all that much of a difference on the outside.

Most will stand comfortably inside the Airstream Basecamp, as the 2020 model has 6 feet and 3.5 inches between floor and ceiling. This interior fits a total of 8 windows and skylights in that space. The walls of the trailer are sturdy but still allow for an interior width of 6 feet, 4.5 inches. The amenities of the Basecamp are impressive, especially considering the limited space it has.

2020 Airstream Basecamp Other Measurements

One of the most important things to know about any travel trailer is its water tank capacities. The Basecamp has a freshwater tank that can hold 22 gallons, and a combined gray and black water tank that holds up to 29 gallons. The bed inside the Basecamp can be measured in two different ways, as a half-bed or a complete bed. When set up as a half-bed it measures 38 inches by 76 inches. The complete bed measures an even square 76 inches by 76 inches, or a little more than 6 feet, 4 inches each way.
